ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Tahlequah, Director of Percussion Granbury ISD (2009-present), earned a Master of Music Performance degree from Texas Christian University (2009) and a Bachelors of Music Education from Midwestern State University (2000). He is a proud educational artist for Innovative Percussion Sticks and Mallets and Marimba One marimbas. His professional affiliations include Percussive Arts Society, Texas Music Educators Association, and Texas Bandmasters Association. Tahlequah and his beautiful wife, Ginny, live in Ft. Worth, TX, with their amazing twin girls, Kadence and Kennadie.
The Granbury High School Percussion Ensemble is an award-winning, competitive ensemble in both marching and concert percussion ensembles. The program consists of 35 wonderful young men and women from grades 9-12 and strives to be a well-rounded, complete percussion program.
The GHS Percussion Ensemble placed 2nd at PASIC 2015 in the HS Chamber Percussion Ensemble Competition in San Antonio, TX, and is a winner of the 2019 PAS High School “Call for Tapes” receiving the distinct honor of performing a Showcase Concert at the PASIC Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.
